By I got sick of the boring and repetitive words “cucumber” and “tomato” in my head when I was in third grade. I remember thinking, “I’m going to have to change that.” I was inspired by a book I read called, “The Little Prince” and also by the book, “The Three Lives of Peter Rabbit.” I think that the words tomato and cucumber are a pretty good representation of who I wanted to be when I got older.
The key word there, of course, is “who I wanted to be”. I want to be someone who is a complete and total badass, like a real-life superhero who can fly and has super strength. I want to be someone who is willing to put in a lot of work to get the job done, and I want to be someone who is willing to go out of her way to help others.
It’s a lot harder than you might think. We are talking about someone who is just one of many people who are willing to put in a lot of time to do their part, but they are also willing to go out of their way to help others, too. And the way some people act in self-defense is to take a lot of risks and do a lot of selflessness.
